The Democratic establishment seem keyed to trying to have Joe Biden be their nominee.

But as they are fixed on that, there are two Senate probes going on that may impact his run in addition to the Durham probe.

One is by the Homeland Security Committee and senators inquiring into the connections between the Bidens and Burisma and any improper actions that may have been going on while Joe Biden was the point man for the Obama administration on Ukraine.

The other is the probe into FISA abuse by the Senate Judiciary Committee which is looking at how the FBI’s improper actions under the former administration improperly surveilled members of the Trump campaign team including Carter Page.

According to the Daily Caller, Graham reported that they have kicked it off with their first deposition on Tuesday. It’s not clear who the first interview was. Graham has requested to interview 17 Justice Department and FBI employees in relation to the abuse and surveillance of Page that was outlined in the IG report.

The IG report found 17 significant errors and omissions in the FISA applications. It also found that the FBI failed to indentify problems of reliability in regard to the Steele dossier and that the unreliable dossier was critical to getting the warrants.

Graham explained that they intend to call the lower officials to interview them first, then he wants to call the senior officials, like former FBI Director James Comey and DOJ official Rod Rosenstein who signed off on some of the warrants and interview them in public hearings. One reason they would want those initial interviews to be in private would be so that witness cannot compare notes and modify their testimony and that’s why the more important testimony would be at the end, so they can get all the information first from the lower officials and then use it to grill the higher-ups.

    upload_2020-3-5_16-51-0.png
The FISA court has deemed at least two of the warrants invalid and has asked the FBI to implement a reform plane to prevent such abuse from happening in the future. FBI Director Christopher Wray admitted that Carter Page was illegally surveilled.

This all needs to be laid out, it’s been long enough. And it can’t just be an empty investigation where we find more bad stuff they did. There have to be consequences.

John McEntee, the new head of President Donald Trump’s Presidential Personnel Office (PPO), asked White House staff to list “anti-Trump” political appointees in the administration.

McEntee met with White House cabinet liaisons on Thursday to request a list, according to three sources familiar with the meeting who spoke to Axios reporter Jonathan Swan.

Trump enters the next phase of his presidency determined to root out disloyalty in the administration, and McEntee’s return demonstrates his commitment to the task.

McEntee is now in charge of political appointments to the administration, and the president has empowered him to remove the Trump appointees who are blocking his agenda and even working against him.

Fired and escorted off the premises at the command of former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly in 2018, McEntee, Trump’s former body man, has returned to the Trump White House as the head of the PPO.

Trump considers McEntee one of the “originals” — the small band of people who worked with the president in the private sector and in the early days of his campaign.

Other “originals” include Hope Hicks, who also recently returned to the White House, and Dan Scavino, the president’s adviser and social media director.

The news has delighted Trump loyalists in Washington, DC, who are already celebrating the president’s decision to appoint U.S. Ambassador to Germany Ric Grenell as the Acting Director of National Intelligence and the news that Under Secretary of Defense for Policy John Rood resigned Wednesday at Trump’s request.

“Johnny is the ultimate Trump loyalist and exactly the kind of guy, if you support the president’s agenda, that you want to serve in that position,” former White House aide Cliff Simms said to Breitbart News. “This is a huge win for the MAGA movement to have him in that job.”

I only just learned Hope Hicks has returned to the White House in this article. :)

    Speaking of Soros...

The warning comes from none other than billionaire leftist George Soros himself. Soros wrote a scathing letter to Financial Times in which he argues that both Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg should be removed from their leadership roles at Facebook, because of they are allegedly “engaged in some kind of mutual assistance arrangement with Donald Trump that will help him to get re-elected.”

In his letter to Financial Times, Soros argues that he actually supports “more government regulation of social media platforms,” and makes the case that “Facebook does not need to wait for government regulations to stop accepting any political advertising in 2020 until after the elections on November 4.”

Former national security advisor Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn’s defense team filed a brief Tuesday with the court, asking once again to have Flynn’s case dismissed based on the court’s authority and the “government’s outrageous conduct and repeated Brady violations.”

The 19- page brief submitted by Flynn’s attorney Sidney Powell comes on the heels of the appointment by Attorney General William Barr of Chief federal prosecutor from St. Louis, Jeffrey Jensen, to review the ongoing case against Flynn. According to reports, an official with the DOJ, said Jensen was selected weeks ago by Barr and is expected to review issues raised by Flynn’s defense team.

“We hope the government will seriously consider this brief and our prior briefing from the independent perspective Mr. Jensen can provide, and take the steps to remedy this injustice and restore Rule Of Law,” Powell told SaraACarter.com.

Powell has also stated that Flynn had been lied to by the FBI, leading Flynn to believe in the early stages of the bureau’s probe that he was not under investigation.

U.S. Attorney John Durham – charged with the criminal probe into the FBI’s Russia investigation of the Trump campaign – has been questioning CIA officials closely involved with John Brennan’s 2017 intelligence community assessment regarding direct Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to U.S. officials.

In May 2017, Brennan denied during a hearing before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence that its agency relied on the now debunked Christopher Steele dossier for the Intelligence Community Assessment report. He told then Congressman Trey Gowdy “we didn’t” use the Steele dossier.

“It wasn’t part of the corpus of intelligence information that we had,” Brennan stated. “It was not in any way used as a basis for the Intelligence Community assessment that was done. It was — it was not.”

However, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirmed in his report that the dossier was used in the Obama administration’s 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA). As stated in the IG report, there were discussions by top intelligence officials as to whether the Steele dossier should be included in the ICA report.

But upon careful inspection of Horowitz’s report, on page 179, investigators ask former FBI Director James Comey if he discussed the dossier with Brennan and whether or not it should be given to President Obama. According to the report, Comey told investigators that Brennan said it was “important” enough to include in the ICA — clearly part of the “corpus of intelligence information” they had.

According to a recent report by The New York Times, Durham’s probe is specifically looking at that January 2017 intelligence community assessment, which concluded with “high confidence” that Russian President Vladimir Putin “ordered an influence campaign in 2016.”
