The Democrat Party is down on it’s luck. Welcome to the current state of the Democratic Party, where the vibes are chaotic, the coffers are empty, and the leadership is playing hide-and-seek with itself.

Let’s start with the cold, hard truth: the DNC is broke. Like, “checking the couch cushions for spare change” broke. Recent reports have the DNC scraping by with a measly $18 million in cash on hand, while their rivals at the RNC are sitting pretty with $67.4 million. Ouch. Big donors, the lifeblood of any political machine, are ghosting the party faster than you can say “fundraising gala.” And the DNC’s top brass? They’re reportedly mulling over taking out loans to keep the lights on. Loans! This isn’t a startup in Silicon Valley; it’s the backbone of a major political party.

So, how did the Democrats end up in this financial dumpster fire? Well, imagine a party that spent $1 billion on a presidential campaign that featured celebrity vanity projects, Oprah’s $2.5 million paycheck, and a candidate who couldn’t connect with working-class voters if her life depended on it. Spoiler: that was Kamala Harris’s 2024 campaign, and it crashed harder than a bad rom-com at the box office. The DNC’s super PACs are drowning in $47 million of debt, and the donors who once wrote blank checks are now clutching their wallets like life preservers.

If the DNC’s bank account is a tragedy, its leadership is a full-blown farce. The party is less “united front” and more “high school clique during a cafeteria food fight.” Infighting has reached fever pitch, with resignations piling up like unpaid bills. Top labor leaders and even high-profile figures like David Hogg have jumped ship, leaving the DNC looking like a sinking vessel with no captain. One X post called the internal drama “worse than high school,” and honestly, that might be generous. At least high schoolers have a principal to break up the fights.

The current chair, Ken Martin, is catching heat for prioritizing bureaucratic theatrics over actual strategy. Meanwhile, the party’s brand is about as appealing as day-old sushi. They’re hemorrhaging credibility, chasing petty power struggles instead of figuring out why voters—especially the working-class folks they claim to champion—are sprinting to the other side. The donkey’s sign might as well read, “Will bicker for relevance.”

So, what’s next for the DNC? They could start by listening—really listening—to the voters they’ve lost. Ditch the celebrity photo-ops and focus on bread-and-butter issues: jobs, healthcare, affordability. They need a leader who can unify the party, not just another figurehead playing musical chairs with power. And for the love of democracy, they need to get their financial house in order. No more billion-dollar benders.




Until then, our poor donkey will be out there, sign in hand, dreaming of better days. Maybe someone will toss it a dollar or two. Or maybe, just maybe, the DNC will realize that riots don’t win elections—ideas do.
