Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney claimed Sunday that special counsel Robert Mueller intended for Attorney General William Barr to determine whether President Donald Trump obstructed justice in the FBI’s investigation into Russian election interference.

“What you saw here is simply Mueller saying, ‘You know what? I’m going to let Barr call this one,’” Mulvaney said, discussing the final report on Mueller’s 22-month probe with host Jonathan Karl on ABC’s “This Week.”

“He had plenty of evidence to say on collusion, ‘Absolutely not,’ and he actually punted over to Barr,” Mulvaney continued. “Again, that’s the way the system can and does work.”

In a four-page letter delivered to Congress last weekend summarizing the “principal conclusions” of Mueller’s nearly 400-page report, Barr wrote that the special counsel “did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities” during the 2016 White House race.

But the attorney general revealed that Mueller declined to rule on whether the president obstructed justice, including by firing FBI Director James Comey.

In just a couple hundred words, Attorney General Bill Barr officially ended the special counsel investigation and set the stage for the long-awaited findings of possible collusion with Russia. Pundits immediately took apart every clause and analyzed every tense to find some indication of the findings of Robert Mueller. In the end, of course, the letter to Congresswas about as informative as a haiku highway sign. It merely states that the report has been submitted and that Barr has no disagreement with the special counsel’s actions or conclusions.

There is, however, one thing that stands out — a Zen-like question that contains a deeper answer, such as asking what sound does one hand clapping make. The question left in the wake of the Barr letter is: What does one-person collusion sound like?

The Justice Department has informed reporters that there will be no further indictments from the Special Counsel. Many people immediately insisted that does not mean anything, since the Justice Department has long maintained a policy that it should not indict a sitting president. However, it could mean a great deal.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Latest on special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation (all times local): 1:30 p.m.

Attorney General William Barr will not be providing Congress with special counsel Robert Mueller’s findings on Saturday.

That’s according to a senior Justice Department official. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the person wasn’t authorized to publicly discuss the review process.

Mueller has concluded his investigation of Russian election interference and possible coordination with Donald Trump’s campaign.

Barr is reviewing Mueller’s confidential report and has said he expects to provide Congress with the “principal conclusions” this weekend.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Special counsel Robert Mueller on Friday turned over his long-awaited final report on the contentious Russia investigation that has cast a dark shadow over Donald Trump’s presidency, entangled Trump’s family and resulted in criminal charges against some of the president’s closest associates.

The comprehensive report, still confidential, marks the end of Mueller’s probe but sets the stage for big public fights to come. The next steps are up to Trump’s attorney general, to Congress and, in all likelihood, federal courts.

The Justice Department said the report was delivered by a security officer Friday afternoon to the office of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Word of the delivery triggered reactions across Washington. Shortly afterward, Attorney General William Barr released a letter noting his plans to write his own account of Mueller’s findings. The White House released a statement saying it had not seen or been briefed on the document.

Former Obama White House Counsel and Clinton-linked attorney Greg Craig may soon be charged by the Justice Department for engaging in illegal unregistered overseas lobbying, in a case initially probed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller -- a development that would make him the first Democrat to face prosecution amid the long-running Russia investigation.

The case centers on lobbying work that Craig performed in 2012 for the Russian-backed president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, while Craig was a partner at the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Craig allegedly never registered as a foreign agent under a U.S. law known as the Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA, which requires lobbyists to declare publicly if they represent foreign leaders, governments or their political parties.

FARA violations were only rarely prosecuted until Mueller took aim at Paul Manafort, President Trump's former campaign chairman, for his lobbying work in Ukraine. Manafort, who connected Craig with Yanukovych, has been convicted on numerous bank and tax fraud charges, and was separately accused of FARA violations as well. He was sentenced earlier this month to approximately seven years in prison.

This interview is 2 weeks old now...
But, Nunes as "Gang of 8" knows so much he can't speak of.
I hoped he was wrong about a delay in the Mueller report release when I first heard this.
But, it appears he was correct.

"Nunes doubts report that Mueller probe is near conclusion"
